I couldn't smell the flowers- to all the gardens I went were the same, lush green grass and colored petals, nothing felt different. All those stories, of Romeos' and Juliets' of Lailas' and Majnus' seemed false -- nothing in my life made sense. I was surviving, not living. O! I saw you, your eyes, your smile, they way you spoke; you took my heart away. Everything was beautiful, the birds I hated started singing for me, the odourless flowers were now my fragrance, skies so beautiful, stars full of life. O Beloved! What have you done to me? Everytime I breathe, I breathe for you. I have a purpose in life, you are the life, my existence the purpose. The way you fold your hands, the way you blink! The universe stops to gaze in awe, of those deep eyes with a purpose in them, that gentle smile and the beautiful curves surrounding them. Hair so dense I forget my way through home, but then I remember you are my home. -Words so beautiful the dead get out of their graves, just to listen to you one last time before they can't hear. O beloved hold my hand just like you hold my pain, my sadness and make it disappear; hold my soul for I belong to you.
Yours,
Ihsaan.
